Sooo. First point of the day? My history teacher is a sadist. Stof knows this well, I know.
And, everyone should know that I only say that when I'm really pissed off at his class.
I won't force those that are lucky not to have to know what pudding is to know the agonizing details, so I'll just say that it is a hellish project, especially when it is on FIVE chapters. Though, I'm trying to finish it before New Years, so I can do my other history homework and my English project before school starts again.
Anyway, on to more cheerful things.
Gifts received:
~ This funny digital coin counter jar. (I've always said that small change doesn't matter, so my parents got it for me to show how much it can add up to!)
~ A portable iPod stereo sort of thing.
~ A cool new iPod cover.
~ Five spiffy new sweaters, all warm and pretty.
~ Hairspray and Ratatouille on DVD
~ A few books, including "The Tough Guide to Fantasyland," which is absolutely hilarious. It makes fun of typical fantasy cliches.
~ A CELLPHONE.
About the last one: So. After we opened up all the gifts, my parents said "Now, one of you has to find the pickle ornament!" (The pickle ornament, by the way, is a German tradition- it is an ornament obviously shaped and colored like a pickle, and it is hard to find in a tree. The tradition is that whatever child finds it gets another present.) So, I start on one side and look toward the center of the tree. Eventually, my dad just laughs and says that if it was any closer, it could bite me. I looked exactly in front of my nose and saw it, and my parents brought me my present: a cellphone box. An -empty- cellphone box. Then, the tree begins to ring, and I go toward it to find that it was attached to a piece of ribbon. Aww. It's a pretty cellphone.
Also, I've basically gotten no sleep recently because I've been watching movies with my sister several nights in a row. We watched Pirates 3 with my parents on Thursday, the night we got back from New Jersey. My sister and I watched Stardust, a movie I saw in theatres but she hadn't seen before, on Friday night. She really enjoyed it, and it was as cute as I remembered. The leading male is adorable.
And last night, we watched this miniseries of Jane Eyre. Aww, so romantic. I've been in love with the musical for ages. I've also decided that the character of Mr Rochester is almost as amazing as Mr Darcy. Almost. Though, neither of them compare to the amazingness that is Sir Percival Blakeney of the Scarlet Pimpernel books. God, I am such a geek.
